Victor Correa was the first brother of Sigma Lambda Beta to enter the Omega Chapter. Every November 20th, brothers commemorate his legacy by hosting hands-only CPR certification events to raise awareness and prevent future tragedies.

SLBEF is proud to announce that Texas Tech has established an Entity Specific Fund (ESF) in partnership with SLBEF to provide enduring support for their chapter alumni and undergraduate brothers. This initiative enables both Alumni and Undergraduates of SLB to unite in building a sustainable endowment, dedicated specifically to enhancing educational and programming opportunities for their chapter. Managed by the SLBEF, the fund is a 501(c)(3) organization, ESF offers a secure platform for contributions, allowing Chapter Brothers to make tax-deductible donations that will directly impact the community’s growth and development.

The SLBEF is pleased to introduce our newest volunteer Bro. Alvaro to our Communications Committee.

Alvaro Munoz, an alumnus of the Enduring Sigma Epsilon chapter at Dickinson College, born and raised from South Central Los Angeles and holds a bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies. He currently serves as a College Adviser for UCLA’s EAOP DCAC program at Washington Prep High School, also located in South Central Los Angeles. Following his graduation, Alvaro became an active member of the Dickinson College LatinX Alumni Network and has been consistently seeking avenues to support the Brotherhood on the West Coast. Committed to giving back to both the Brotherhood and his alma mater, he is focused on making meaningful contributions as an engaged alumnus

At BetaCon Brothers Joel “Lobo” Arias and Tim “Verbal” Wightman were inducted into the Salon de Hermandad (SDH). The SDH is the highest honor in our fraternity and you can learn more about it on SLB’s website.

Applications are open for $40,000 in grant dollars for SLB Entities!

Last week Sigma Lambda Beta sent an email with dates and deadlines and this will be the beginning of several posts and communications reminding you about the applications. It is too much to post on social media, but put September 15, the deadline on your calendar. Leading up to the deadline we will have webinars, office hours, and plenty of resources to help your entity plan, create and execute a program that receives grant funding for your campus, region, or community.
