This year the Zeta Chapter at the University of Michigan held their 9th Annual Right to Success Program. Right to Success (RTS) is a day long program where area high school juniors, many from underprivileged communities, are brought to the University to learn about the opportunities they have for higher education.
The students bused in from Grand Rapids got a campus tour, as well as presentations from the Office of Admissions and the Office of Financial Aid, and a keynote speaker. They also got to explore a student resource fair and gained perspective from a student panel. During a break from the presentations and ice breakers throughout the day, the participants and chaperones enjoyed a meal at the Mosher-Jordan Dining Hall. The Zeta Chapter works every year to ensure this entire event is free to the high school students. The Chapter hopes to “get students informed about college and to have them consider going or applying to colleges, not just the University of Michigan.”
This year, the Foundation received an event recap from a brother of Sigma Lambda Beta’s Zeta Chapter who, four years ago, was a participant in RTS. That is an example of the real impact this event is having in the Grand Rapids community. Congratulations, Zeta Chapter – the Sigma Lambda Beta Education Foundation is proud to support the Right to Success Event!
